STEPPING STONES SHELTER

contain.jpg

With Alice Sims (artist and art therapist):
Designed and conducted workshops for Stepping Stones Shelter family residents, using clay, bisque objects and glazes.

  • Bowls and mugs were made to use at the shelter, and to leave for other children and families who would be staying in the future.

  • Containers were made by kids as gifts for Mother’s Day.

  • Families painted platters together, and fired ceramics were returned to families to take to their new home.

Stepping Stones Shelter photography project - 2 sessions. Many sheltered parents are unable to take baby pictures, and so we gave each participant an inexpensive digital camera, used a scanner and paint, stamps and collage to create baby books.

Funded by The Montgomery County Council for the Arts and Humanities and Art For the People. Grants from the Carl M. Freeman Foundation.
